WHEN LOVE DIES
Anarchy would take centre stage
Antagonism and affection would not fit on the same page
Surely, peace would hide in the shadows of the dark
A journey of no return it would forever embark
WHEN LOVE DIES
Joy would take refuge only in the memory of the dead
Who in their state would have peace as a daily bread
Who would no longer have to experience mourning,
Only they would be spared the torture of inner suffering....
WHEN LOVE DIES
Happiness, once for broken hearts a sturdy Monolith,
Would cease to be, spoken of only in fables and myths,
The wings of gloom over the skies would spread,
With the promise of fear and eternal dread
WHEN LOVE DIES
Mortals would drop like flies,
Hope like the mist would fade from their eyes,
Tears would ceaselessly flow like running streams
Tranquility that once reigned would end up a forgotten dream....
WHEN LOVE DIES
There would be no more feasting
Neither would there be reason for a joyful gathering.....
The gardens of the Earth shall wail out in pain,
For there ceases to be the hands of heaven to water them again
WHEN LOVE DIES
Gladness would be left utterly forsaken,
As It's life source a last bow it has taken
Sorrow like a soldier stands guard in its place
Ready to wipe out the human race
WHEN LOVE DIES
Joy would go by a new name
Endless wailing being the new song all would proclaim,
Happiness would be laid to waste,
Its legs would flee to the dust in speedy haste
WHEN LOVE DIES
Think of what would become of relationships
When Love wreaks as a ship
It's a fate worse than death
More painful than a wounded soldier gradually losing breath
WHEN LOVE DIES
[Where in Christ would we nurture Hope,
How could man possibly cope?
The world was saved in the first instance because of Love,
No longer would a Savior descend from above
WHEN LOVE DIES
When LOVE is laid to rest
I would weep my eyes out at best,
Giving myself over as a substitute to the grave dark
Is no big sacrifice to try bring love back
